CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - The Stephen F. Austin Track and Field team will have more East Texas flavor, now that Crockett's Jordan Washington has signed with the 'Jacks.
Washington proved this past summer he's capable of running at the collegiate level, after winning state with his club track team in both the 300 and 110 hurdles.
He wanted to be a part of a winning tradition and that's exactly what he got with the SFA's track team who just clinched this year's SLC indoor Championship.
"I want to be pushed. I want to see how far my body will go before it reaches its limit and I think that's what every athlete should want, is to be pushed. I feel like SFA can do that," said Washington.
"That's one of his number qualities is, work ethic and physical and mental toughness. The 300 hurdles is one of the toughest races in track and field and they got a good one. SFA got a real good worker and I was blessed to be able to work with him," said Washington's track coach Edward Arledge.
Washington said he plans on majoring in kinesiology while minoring in business.
