NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A longstanding tradition of a horseback trail ride and three days of good food, music, and fellowship is in its 29th year in Nacogdoches County.

The Bryant Trail Ride attracts hundreds of people from several states and throughout East Texas. It began with the Bryant family patriarch organizing a family ride down country roads. Over the years, it's grown to a whole lot of newcomers. Trail riders and campers started arriving last night and they'll keep coming until the ride starts Saturday, at 2 p.m.

“In 2014, we had 437 riders. Here comes some of 'em,” said Michael Bryant, the coordinator for the trail ride. “It's a bunch of fun. This is a family functions, not ah...this is a come out and enjoy yourself."

In the past, Bryants would feed all their guests. Now vendors and a live DJ help out with food and entertainment. An admittance fee of only $15 is now necessary.
