LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Shortly after 6 PM the Lufkin Fire Department, DPS, and the Rivercrest Redland Volunteer Fire Department responded to an incident on U.S. 59 North.
Naomi Godwin was driving north on U.S. Highway 59 with her husband and five daughters when she is believed to have had a seizure.
As she attempted to pull off the road into the parking lot of the 59 Texas Inn she lost control of the vehicle and drove into the hotel.
No one was in the immediate area of the hotel that the vehicle impacted.
According to DPS officials, Godwin only suffered minor injuries, but was transported to CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital because of her prior medical condition.
Godwin's husband and five daughters were not injured in the accident.
