JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office and firefighters with the Rayburn Fire Department and First Responders rescued a woman whose truck was swept into a ditch when she tried to drive down a road covered with high water Monday morning.
According to Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman, the incident occurred at about 11 a.m. Monday on County Road 200. High water covered the road, and when she tried to drive her Chevrolet truck through it, she was swept into a ditch near Mill Creek.
JCSO deputies and firefighters from the Rayburn Fire Department and First Responders arrived on the scene a short time later and found the woman sitting in her truck with water up to her waist, Newman said.
Both the woman and her truck were rescued, Newman said. Although the woman wasn't injured the damage to her truck is not known at this time.
