ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a 33-year-old man for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl in July of 2014.
Brandon Fontelle Lewis, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.
According to the arrest affidavit, an ACSO detective received a fax from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services on July 17 that stated that a 3-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by a minor between the ages of 12 and 15 at a residence in the 600 block of Fair Oaks Circle in Angelina County.
The alleged victim's foster parents told the ACSO detective that the little girl had started showing signs of past sexual abuse, so the detective contacted Child Protective Services.
Then on July 24, 2014, the detective met with the alleged victim and her foster mother at Harold's House in Lufkin. During the forensic interview, the 3-year-old girl avoided responding to some of the personal questions.
According to the affidavit, the foster mother said that she was giving the alleged victim a bath at one point when the little girl started touching herself. The foster mother asked the little girl what she was doing, and the child allegedly said she was "[expletive]ing" and further explained that Lewis had done the same thing to her with his "private parts."
On August 5, the alleged victim and her foster mother came to Harold's House again for another interview. The affidavit stated that the forensic interviewer concluded that the victim had not been coached into saying the things she said and said that she thought the little girl was telling the truth.
According to the affidavit, during the second interview, the 3-year-old alleged victim drew pictures of Lewis and a bed to illustrate what had happened. The 3-year-old girl said Lewis and the minor that is also accused of sexually assaulting her both got on top of her at different times when she was lying on a bed, the affidavit stated.
Later that day, a nurse performed a SANE exam on the 3-year-old girl, and the evidence indicated that the child had been sexually assaulted.
