NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The shop local bug also hit Nacogdoches as their farmer's market patrons enjoyed Wednesday's sunshine over a good lunch.

The market is adding more vendors who sell ready-to-eat foods.

Brisket tacos were served by Michael Cid, owner of the New Day Baking Company to lunch goers.

His new business prepares local and organic meals using farmer's market products whenever possible.

“It's a lot easier to make when you can find the products here in town and locally, and it comes out with a better product in the end,” Cid said.

Cid's business plan falls right in line with a film called “Nourish” that will be shown Thursday evening.

It sets the stage to support the food movement in Nacogdoches. It will be shown at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center 7 p.m.
