NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Jeremiah Morrison doesn't want much for his eighth birthday.
Jeremiah will turn eight on May 8. He had one request when his mother Amy asked what he wanted.
"I want birthday cards," Jeremiah told his mother.
Amy Morrison would take that answer and put up a post on facebook. The post was a video with Jeremiah asking for the cards.
"Right away, we got cards from people we know," Morrison said. "It was amazing."
Soon after the first post was made, Amy's daughter LeighAnn posted the video onto several community pages on facebook and now the family is expecting to get cards from all over.
"If he got 50 or 100 cards, he would just be ecstatic," Morrison said.
Jeremiah is autistic, but Morrison said that has not stopped him from enjoying his life.
"Two years ago, he would not talk to anyone," Morrison said. "Now he is just another kid in his class. He has progressed so far."
Morrison said the cards are special for him, because Jeremiah is just starting to read on his own. The cards give him a sense of accomplishment. Jeremiah said when he grows up he wants to be a police officer and help people.
