Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 36-year-old woman on Thursday after she allegedly tried to take a 5-year-old girl from her parents' home without their permission.

Crystal Marie Beck, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony charge. Her bail amount has been set at $15,000.

According to the arrest affidavit, a Nacogdoches Police officer responded to suspicious person call at a residence in the 2600 block of Pearl Street. When he got to the scene, he learned that Beck had attempted to take a five-year-old girl out of her parents' home without permission, the affidavit stated.

After the parents confronted Beck, she released the little girl and left the scene. NPD officers found Beck in the area a short time later and arrested her on the kidnapping charge.
