NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Parks Advocacy League or "PAL" saw the fruits of its labor flourish Saturday after encouraging the community to go technology-free for some family fun in the park.
PAL hosted its "Park Fest 2015" at Festival Park in downtown Nacogdoches.
The organization is all about parks.
It is also a community partner with Nacogdoches Parks & Recreation. PAL's goal is to keep the public spaces attractive and user-friendly.
“It's really disappointing when something doesn't work or you need a cleaner restroom or whatever,” explained Paula White, President of PAL. "So, we're doing all that we can to make them not just the place to be, but the place you really enjoy and you don't have to rush home to use the restroom or get a meal or whatever."
All monetary donations accepted today will go toward pal's 2015 project of the year.
They will work to beautify and upgrade Temple Spray Park in Nacogdoches.
