Spencer Ryan Niedert, of Center, was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. His bail amount was set at $45,000.

According to a press release, a Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to a 911 call about a shooting incident that occurred that occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on May 1.

An employee with the City of Huxley told the deputy that he was traveling south on US Highway 87 south of Loop 500 in Center in a work truck when a red Ford-350 four-door dually pickup pulled up beside him and the driver started yelling at him "in a road rage incident," the press release stated.
