SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Late Monday a Sabine County judge issued an arrest warrant for the Lufkin man--arrested Saturday for solicitation of a minor for in Angelina County--on allegations of a sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.
Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested Robert Lee Faulkner IV, 21, on Saturday after he allegedly made arrangements to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex. Instead, Faulkner ran into undercover deputies.
Sheriff Greg Sanches said the investigation began earlier in the week after Faulkner was identified as a suspect in a sexual assault of a child case under investigation in Sabine County.
Sabine County Sheriff Tom Maddox said on Monday that Faulkner had brought a 15-year-old girl to Sabine County to have sex with her. He had three sexual encounters with her that night then abandoned her.
Maddox said Faulkner's case will go up before a grand jury on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Faulkner is being held in the Angelina County Jail on a collective $150,000 bond on two counts of online solicitation of a minor. Maddux said he will also be charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child.
