NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Members of the Church of Wells found themselves in handcuffs during a demonstration on the SFA campus Monday afternoon.
SFA Police Sgt. Amanda Kennedy said they were contacted that church members were on the property and making vulgar comments to female students. She said officers checked into them and saw they did not have a permit to be at the school.
Kennedy said two of the members refused to give officers their names, so they were placed into handcuffs. She said they then gave officers their names and were ordered off the property.
Kennedy said any group that is holding any kind of organized demonstration must obtain a permit through student engagements.
None of the demonstrators were criminally charged.
