Two Trinity adults arrested in connection with arson case

TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

Following the arrest of a 15-year-old minor after two mobile homes caught on fire last week in Trinity County, Trinity County Constable Mark Cole has now arrested 34-year-old Melissa Mackey and 18-year-old Brett Morgan in connection with the arson case. 


Mackey, whose parents owned one of the mobile homes, had given her an eviction notice following an argument. 

After the argument Mackey, Morgan and the juvenile planned to burn the residence according to Cole. 

Mackey and Morgan are now in custody of the Trinity Police Department, and no bond has been set at the time.

A 15-year-old male has been detained and is being processed for arson after two mobile homes caught on fire in Trinity.


The blazes occurred in the Coach Village Mobile Home Park subdivision of Westwood Shores.

According to Constable Mark Cole, the first fire happened around 8 o'clock Monday night, and the other home right next door caught on fire on Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m. 

The Texas Fire Marshall and Trinity Fire Department responded to the fire. 

No one was home at the of the blaze.
