LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Altus Emergency Centers will be building a free-standing emergency facility off of South First Street in front of the Sam's Club store.
"We are pleased to bring a first-class healthcare facility, along with a team of emergency medicine trained physicians and nurses, to serve the residents of the Lufkin area," said Kevin Herrington, the regional executive vice president of Altus Health. "We understand the unique challenges of healthcare delivery in rural Texas communities, and we look forward to improving access to high-quality healthcare to ensure individual needs of each and every patient are met."
According to a press release, Altus Health's emergency center will be the state-of-the-art facility with approximately 9,500 square feet of space and will offer a variety of services including X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and a full-service diagnostic lab.
The company plans to hire 20 full-time employees to operate the center, and the emphasis will be on local hires, the press release stated.
"Our approach to healthcare is not only different - it's successful," said Garrett Syphrett, assistant vice president of operations and business development of Altus Health. "Patients receiving care at our freestanding emergency centers and clinics experience short wait times, a personalized patient experience, and the latest technology. We are pleased Lufkin residents will have another choice in where they receive their emergency care treatment."
The Lufkin location will be the company's fourth free-standing emergency center. Altus Health also has centers in Baytown, Lake Jackson, and Lumberton.
Altus Health was established in 2004 and is headquartered in Pearland, Texas. Since then, the company has grown to a network of more than 1,600 physicians with facilities across Texas and Nevada that include a surgical hospital, surgical centers, cancer centers, imaging centers, sleep center, impatient and outpatient hospice care, and freestanding emergency centers.
