Truckers to be Fingerprinted

Truck drivers will now have to get fingerprinted if they want to carry hazardous materials.

The goal of the fingerprints is to help prevent terrorist attacks. The prints will be used to check driver's criminal histories and their immigration status.

The FBI says this begins immediately.

Hazmat drivers already receive background checks based on their names. There are now about $2.7 million hazmat drivers in the United States.
