Trinity man killed in apparent accidental shooting

TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

A Trinity man died in what police say appears to have been an accidental shooting Wednesday night.

According to Chief Steven Jones, police, sheriff's deputies and paramedics were called to a home near the intersection of Walker Street and Fairdale Street.

They took Joey Corley, 25, to the hospital, where he later died.

Jones said based on the information they have received, it appears Corley was accidentally shot.

"Joey leaves behind a large family and group of friends," Jones said. "I ask that you all please take time to pray for this family as they find their way through this tragedy and untimely loss."
