GARRISON, TX (KTRE) -

The annual Garrison Volunteer Fire Department Barbecue is just a couple of days away.

Rain or shine the firefighters promise to cook up appetites and good times.

"We're going to be selling barbeque plates and we're going to have some karaoke and have a DJ and just have some good old time, visiting with the community,” said Diana Pinkston, the Garrison VFD secretary. “It's going to be Saturday, May 9. Starts at 10:30 up until we run out."

Here's the information again for the annual fundraiser barbecue. It will take place at the Garrison Fire Station this Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m.

The barbecue plates range from $8 to $10, and there will also be a silent auction. All the proceeds go to help the fire department buy much needed equipment.
