ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - When Angelina County Sheriff's deputies went to check on a suspicious person Thursday night and found that he had outstanding arrest warrants, he allegedly head-butted one of the deputies, giving him a bloody mouth.
Justin David Luna, 25, of Lufkin is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a third-degree felony assault of a public servant charge, a Class A misdemeanor failure to identify as a fugitive, a Class B misdemeanor theft between $50 and $500 charge and two capias pro fine warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Collectively, Luna's bail has been set at $2,354.
According to Capt. Alton Lenderman with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, ACSO deputies were dispatched out to a property off of PD Selman, which is off of FM 326. He said the property owner told the deputies he saw people on his place.
When the deputies arrived on the scene, they ran Luna's driver's license and found that he had outstanding warrants.
While the deputies were putting Luna into the back of a patrol unit, he head-butted one of them, giving him a bloody mouth, Lenderman said. The ACSO captain said the deputy did not need any stitches.
