LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Emergency officials are urging motorists to avoid a major Lufkin intersection Monday morning.
According to TxDOT, the underpasses at Loop 287 and Highway 59 North and South were flooded Monday morning.
At 9:43 a.m., TxDOT announced FM 324 from Loop 287 to Daniel McCall Drive is closed due to high water.
In Trinity County, FM 3154, FM 1280 and FM 358 have flooding issues.
At 3:49 p.m. Monday, TxDOT announced that FM 2497 is closed to traffic until further notice. Water is reported to be high in some sections of the road, and it is not passable, according to the TxDOT tweet.
The TxDOT maintenance director in Trinity County said that parts of US Highway 287, State Highway 19, SH 94, and FM roads 3154, 358, 357, 356, 233, 280, and 355. As of 4:05 p.m., all of the roads were passable, but TxDOT officials will continue to monitor the situation.
