HEMPHILL, TX (KTRE) - A Sabine County grand jury indicted the 21-year-old man nabbed in an Angelina County Sheriff's Office sting on May 2 on three felony sexual assault of a child charges.
Robert Faulkner was arrested in the parking lot of a Lufkin business Saturday. Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanches said his deputies arrested Faulkner after the man allegedly arranged to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex. Instead of the girl, Faulkner met ACSO undercover deputies.
In a previous East Texas News story, Sanches said their investigation started after Faulkner was also identified as a suspect in a sexual assault of a child case currently under investigation.
In addition to the three sexual assault charges from Sabine County, Faulkner has also been charged with two felony counts of online solicitation of a minor in Angelina County.
Johnnie Deshandrick Sampson, of Brookeland, was also indicted by the Sabine County jury on May 8. He was indicted on an intoxicated manslaughter charge in connection to a fatal accident that occurred in Jasper County in October 2014.
In a previous East Texas news story, Jasper County Pct. 5 Justice of the Peace Brett said that Sampson and Larry Fike, 54, of Caldwell, were in a Chevrolet pickup on State Highway 96 when they ran a stop sign and collided with the rear end of an 19-wheeler.
Fike was ejected from the pickup, and we was pronounced dead at the scene. Simpson was airlifted to a Beaumont hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
