Hospital Puts "Heart" Into New Campaign

A local hospital wants to get the word out about having a healthy heart.

Heart disease is now the No. 1 killer of both women and men.  Friday, Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin kicked off an ad campaign to spread the message about cardiovascular disease.  Area billboards, publications and TV stations will start running those ads next month.

"We're calling attention to that as a hospital and hoping people will become more aware of what's going on with their bodies and stay healthy," marketing director Yana Ogletree says.

In case you didn't know, February is 'National Heart Month'.  Woodland Heights will host a heart fair Saturday at the Lufkin Mall.
