TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A flood warning is in effect for Trinity County and some residents are already voluntarily evacuating.

According to the Trinity County Sheriff's Department, a large volume of water is heading up river. Flooding in the area could occur.

The Texas Army National Guard is on standby in the event a mandatory evacuation is needed. However, at this time there is no mandatory evacuation, but authorities are encouraging residents who live in areas that usually flood to monitor the situation closely and be prepared to evacuate in the event of flooding.

According to the sheriff's department, the residents of Sportsman's Oaks subdivision at the end of Doug Bell Road have already began evacuating on their own free will.
