Less With Lisa: Lufkin Extreme Couponer tells us the benefits of couponing

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - You've all seen them in stores before with their baskets filled to the rims and their coupon books in hand.

"I've had some questions when I've been walking through a couple of stores," said Lisa Weiss, an extreme couponer.

Extreme couponers are out to get an extra bang for their bucks.

"All the sales are going to cycle back around with a coupon match," Lisa said.

They know what they're doing, when to shop, how to shop, and what to buy. They're paying incredibly low prices or nothing for necessities.

We got one super saver to let us in on the deals, and you'd be amazed at the delight her dealings have brought her.

"Thousands. Over the last six and a half or seven years, I've saved tens of thousands of dollars," Lisa said.

"We've actually put in an in ground swimming pool," Lisa said.

Lisa said she started her stockpile for a couple of reasons.

"I have my husband, myself, and my two children. We had three nephews that came to stay with us," Lisa said.

They're growing nephews who could eat one trip worth of groceries in a day. That was the start of her stately stockpile. It's a separate room full of the things you always seem to run out of.

"It's always at the worst possible moment!" Lisa said.

What if instead of getting up in the middle of the night to buy that soap or detergent, you just ran out of, you had a special spot you could pick up from right from home?

Lisa said couponing has become huge for families of every class.

"It is for anybody who wants to save money," Lisa said.

Deciding to save takes a little dedication. The benefits of stocking are saving over time, having everything on hand, and being able to give if you'd like.

"You can't do it overnight," Lisa said.

Over this week, Lisa will tell us the most crucial steps to pocket your pesos and spend them where you want to.
