Summer reading signup begins at Lufkin's Kurth Library

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Reading can take you to places you can only dream of, and the staff at Lufkin's Kurth Memorial Library is hoping to help with that this summer.

The library has started the signup period for their summer reading program. The reading program is geared towards children, but this year, adults have been added. The age ranges for the program are broken up by ages 0 to 3, 4 to 12, 13 to 17, and 18 and up.

The adults will have an opportunity to win a special prize this year.

"We are giving away a night out on the town," director Lorraine Simoneau said. "The grand prize winner will get two tickets to a show at the Pines and dinner at Manhattan. It is a really good prize for the adults. We have a good turn out so far, and it is only the second day to sign up."

Anyone that is interested in signing up for the summer reading program can stop by the library during operating hours.
