NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A 23-year-old Nacogdoches woman was booked into the county jail Tuesday after she was indicted in connection to allegations that she had cocaine within easy reach of a child under the age of 15.

Jasmine Shantal Pleasant, was charged with third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance between 1 and 4 grams and a state-jail felony endangering a child charge. She was released from the Nacogdoches County Jail later Thursday after she posted a bail amount of $10,000.

According to the text of the indictment, Pleasant put a child under the age of 15 in “imminent danger of death, bodily injury, or physical or mental impairment” by possessing cocaine that was in plain view and within easy reach of the child. In addition, the indictment stated that Pleasant did not “voluntarily deliver the child to a designated emergency infant care provider.”
