Houston Co. officials consider declaring state of emergency

HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Houston County could be under a state of emergency as soon as Friday.

County leaders are set to discuss the damage caused by recent storms, including flooding. At 1 p.m., Houston County Judge Erin Ford is calling a meeting of the commissioners court.

Ford says the county will vote on whether or not to declare a state of emergency. It would help people affected by the storms with better access to more structured assistance.
