ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has charged a Zavalla man with first-degree murder following a stabbing death Thursday night.

The sheriff's office confirmed Tommy Lee Granger, 27, was booked into the Angelina County Jail. He is accused of killing Jesse Keller, 34.

Captain Alton Lenderman said the stabbing took place on John Keely Road in the Zavalla area.

Sheriff Greg Sanches said Keller went to an area of homes commonly referred to as "the compound" and got into an argument with Granger, which lead to a physical fight. Sanches said Granger admitted to stabbing Keller in the chest.

His bail is set at $100,000.
