LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - The Lufkin ISD Education Foundation is sponsoring its second annual Panthers of Prestige Academic Awards Banquet on Wednesday, May 27th at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center. The banquet honors the top 20 graduating Lufkin High School seniors and the selected educators who have inspired and motivated these young scholars to achieve academic success.
The top 20 graduates are being recognized for their high scholastic achievement by earning the highest grade point average among the 2015 LISD graduating class. They also distinguish themselves by participating in extracurricular school activities and in providing service to others in our community. Because we believe both these students and educators have gone above and beyond to make their mark in achieving excellence in education, we proudly name them as our 2015 "Panthers of Prestige."
The evening event will include the top 20 students reading written letters to their distinguished educators in which they will express how these educators have influence them to strive for excellence in education and encourage them to set their goals high. The Lufkin ISD Education Foundation Board will present plaques to the educators and medals will be given to the top 20 seniors.
The award winning Lufkin High School Band will be performing as well as the Lufkin High School Kantori Choir. Dinner will be catered by Tome' Catering. Reserved tables with seating for eight are still available and can be purchased for $350. Individual tickets are $25/person.
