Lufkin animal control officers catch peacock

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - After three days, Lufkin animal control officers have captured a peacock wandering the woods and streets of the Brookhollow subdivision.

Officer Paula Taylor said they caught the bird on a corner patio at a home. The peacock was taken into custody but without incident.

Taylor said they will keep the peacock quarantined for 10 days and if nobody claims him, they will send it to an animal sanctuary.
