LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An 18-wheeler fire has blocked traffic on the on-ramp of US 69 at the loop intersection Wednesday morning.
According to Lufkin Fire Battalion Chief Jesse Moody, the driver had pulled over to take a nap at the intersection of US 69 and Loop 287. Around 4:30 a.m., while he was sleeping, the trailer caught fire.
Firefighters arrived and put out the fire. Moody said it was carrying motor oil and antifreeze, but none of the contents in the barrels spilled out.
The barrels are now being transferred to another 18-wheeler.
