Affidavit: Houston Co. man put gun to girlfriend's head, threatened her

HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Houston County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a 30-year-old Grapeland man on Tuesday in connection to allegations that he walked up behind his wife while she was washing dishes, put a loaded pistol to her head, and threatened to kill her.

Billy Vaughn Patton Jr. is still being held in the Houston County Jail on a third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. No bail amount was available.

According to the arrest affidavit, a Houston County Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to a home in the 200 block of County Road 1820 in Latexo in reference to an assault. When the deputy arrived at the scene, the complainant explained to him that her neighbor had run over to her house and told her that that her boyfriend had beaten her up, the affidavit stated.

Later, the HCSO deputy talked to the victim, Patton's girlfriend. The alleged victim told the deputy that after she picked Patton up from work, they drove back to their residence.

As the woman was washing dishes, Patton allegedly put a loaded Glock pistol to her head and said that he was going to kill her. Fearing for her life, Patton's girlfriend ran over to the neighbor's house to ask for help, the affidavit stated.

The HCSO deputy arrested Patton without further incident and took him to the county jail.
