The inaugural Blueberry Bluegrass Concert took place Friday night, kicking off the 26th annual Blueberry Festival.

Hundreds of people attended the concert, and enjoyed bluegrass music from multiple bands. One of the bands featured, was The Blake Brothers Bluegrass Band.

“When people hear bluegrass, they think of old time mountain music, said Blake. “Bluegrass has evolved to pickers and singers and a lot of good harmony and things like that. It's Good family entertainment, you can bring your kids, pets, your family, bring them out and just have a good time. There is no alcohol, no drugs; it's all clean, good family fun.”

The festivities continue with the 26th annual Blueberry Festival in downtown Nacogdoches. The festival kicks off at 8am, with a 5k run and the crowd favorite blueberry pancake breakfast. There will also be a pet parade at 10am, a children's area, and motorcycle show. The festival runs until 4pm and entry is free.
