Child Abuse Fatalities Increasing

by Jessica Cervantez

The number of child abuse deaths in Texas is going up. In fact, the number has doubled from just ten years ago.

In the past year, more than 200 children have died from abuse or neglect across the state.

Case workers say more awareness about these crimes has more people reporting them. Part of the reason the fatality numbers are increasing.

Agencies like Child Protective Services encourage you to report child abuse or neglect, speaking up about it can save lives.
