Jasper County Officials conducting water rescues in Kirbyville and Buna due to flash flooding


According to the Jasper County Sheriff's Department, severe flash flooding has caused high water along many roads in the Kirbyville, Buna, and Evadale areas.

Jasper County officials are currently conducting water rescues in the area. Several people have been rescued so far.

A command center is being set up at the Buna Sub Courthouse where Jasper County officials will assess the situation and continue water rescues..

In Evadale, FM 1131 and FM 105 are impassable.

In Buna, County Roads 606. 607, 608, and 725 are impassable, as well as FM 1004 to the Tyler County line.

In Kirbyville, Herndon, Main St., 2nd Ave., 3rd St., and FM 252 are all impassable.

 Sheriff Mitchel Newman has asked all residents to stay indoors and off the roads.
