Mission Tejas gearing up for weekend events

HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Mission Tejas State Park near Grapeland will be having a weekend full of events.

Among the various events the park is hosting, there is one that will be great for Father's Day. On Sunday, June 21, the park will host a hiking day in the park over its multiple trails throughout the Davey Crockett National Forest.The Park said it will be the perfect way to celebrate Father's Day with the kids.

“It will be a great day to get out with dad and explore the forest here,” Josh Crawford, the Park Interpreter said. “Now that we have sunshine, it will be a great escape from the rain.”

Crawford added The Park will explore life in the woods and everyone who calls the park home. Kicking off the weekend, Saturday, June 20, the park will have The Story of Mission San Francisco de los Tejas and Owl Prowl.

The Park is located on State Highway 21 between Crockett and Alto.
