It was a star studded circus at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center Saturday night as the Junior League of Lufkin hosted a night Under The Big Top.
It's the Junior League's biggest fund raising event of the year, complete with a silent auction, and even a chance to buy a balloon with a 2-karat diamond necklace inside. All the proceeds will go towards organizations benefiting children.
Greta Rich, the Charity Ball Chairperson for the Junior League of Lufkin said, "we give to several organizations from our fundraisers to help the kids. They're our future of our area and we try to help them and improve their lives and improve our future."
Admission to Saturday's event was around $100 a person, not a small fee but it helps in the Junior League's charity work. In 2004, the Junior League contributed over $40,000 to local charities.
