LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The last time East Texans got to see Jasper-native Savion Wright sing on national TV was during Fox's “American Idol” live top 16 shows.

The 22-year-old didn't advance in the competition. But that's not discouraging Wright.

On Wednesday, Wright wrote on his Facebook page, "giving American Idol one last try! Pray for prosperity y'all! Here's to auditioning for the FINAL SEASON!"

If Wright make it to the final season of Idol it will be his third time to appear on the show. The final season of the singing competition will air January 2016.

Savion is the younger brother of Alfred Wright, whose body was found in a wooded area of Sabine County on November 25, 2013.

Wright is currently touring around the U.S. You can find his latest stop at his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SavionJWright
