LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police officers responded to the parking lot of a restaurant in response to a report about a gunshot and found a man slumped over in a gray Ford Mustang Wednesday morning.
According to Jessica Pebsworth, a spokeswoman for the Lufkin Police Department, people in the restaurant parking lot heard a gunshot and found a man slumped over in a Mustang.
The man was found dead at the scene, and police are calling the incident an apparent suicide. Pebsworth said Thursday that the victim has been identified as Triston Conway, 19, of Diboll.
The incident happened at about 10 a.m.
An autopsy was ordered in the case. It was completed at the Jefferson County Morgue in Beaumont Thursday morning.
Conway's funeral is pending through Carroway Funeral Home.
