A popular Lufkin restaurant will soon be closing.
The Denny’s connected to the old Fuel City will stop serving food at midnight on July 14. It is the latest change to the property after the recent Fuel City buyout by Flying J.
“Flying J did not buy the building we are in,” said Rita Morgan, a manager at Lufkin's Denny's. “[Fuel City owner] John Benda still owned our building. What is coming in, I do not know yet. There are rumors, but I cannot say I know what for sure will be here”
This announcement comes after Flying J management earlier announced the only thing that would shut down would be the taco stand and fried pies. The restaurant opened in January of 2013.
