Banks Anticipate Robbers

by Jessica Cervantez

With the recent bank robberies in Etoile two weeks ago, and in Lufkin just last week, several East Texas banks have been heightening their security awareness.

Commercial Bank's president says they have to anticipate bank robberies and train employees to handle them. He hopes their bank procedures keep criminals away.

Tommy Ellison said, "Generally, those procedures are designed to discourage robberies. We limit the amount of currency a teller has, and we limit the amount of currency that a branch has. We have procedures that make it more difficult to obtain that currency."

Commercial Bank employees all go through training to learn what to do in case of a robbery.
