Woodland Heights Medical Center names new CEO

LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - Woodland Heights Medical Center has appointed Kyle Swift as Chief Executive Officer effective July 27.

Swift brings more than nine years of hospital management experience to Lufkin, having held administrative roles at two Texas hospitals: as Assistant CEO at Brownwood Regional Medical Center and as an Administrative Specialist at Laredo Medical Center. Since 2011, Swift has served as CEO of Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas.

"I look forward to coming home to Texas and working with the dedicated physicians, employees, volunteers and board members," Swift said. "Woodland Heights has a great tradition of providing personalized care; from my initial visit I noticed the extra touches that make a difference in the patients' and their family members' hospital experience. It will be an honor to support this staff's tradition and dedication to providing high quality healthcare."

During his tenure at Medical Center of South Arkansas, Swift oversaw a $3.5 million renovation/expansion of the emergency department, and grew outpatient services and patient access. The hospital was one of 49 nationally recognized by Becker's Hospital Review for its low post-operative blood clot rates.

A native Texan, Swift earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and a Master's in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He and his wife, Katy have a five year old son.
