TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Trinity woman spent a night in jail after she was stopped for allegedly driving while intoxicated on Westwood Drive East.  Authorities said Veronica Medcalf  was with her  9-year-old daughter.

According to State Trooper Shawn Droddy, Veronica Medcalf was denied access into the Marina Village Camping Resort around 5:20 p.m. Monday due to having an active criminal trespass warning against her.

Trinity County Sheriff's deputies said they approached her and called for assistance when Medcalf allegedly showed signs of intoxication.

"She was too intoxicated to perform sobriety tasks and was subsequently arrested," Droddy said.

Medcalf has since posted a $12,500 bond.
