DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) -

A Diboll officer came to the rescue to help out a family and remove a snake from the home.

In a Facebook post from Diboll police, officer Bart Riley responded to a home Tuesday morning after receiving a call about a snake in the home. When officer Riley arrived on scene, he was able to recover a rat snake. The rat snake is one of the most common snakes in Texas, but are not venomous.

Riley recently joined the Diboll Police force. Riley has been in Law Enforcement for 16 years and currently holds an advanced certification. Bart holds a swat and sniper certification and has 5 years of investigative experience.
