LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man is in jail after authorities claim they found several videos on his phone of him having sex with an underage girl.
Michael Meadows, 28 of Lufkin, is being charged with seven counts of sexual assault of a child.
On May 27, Meadows was involved in a vehicle pursuit in Polk County. According to the arrest affidavit, Meadows would leave his motorcycle and run away. Polk County deputies would request search warrants for the motorcycle in order to help identify the suspect.
The affidavits stated four cell phones were found on the motorcycle and were linked back to Meadows. One of the phones allegedly contained sexual images and videos of Meadows and a female. The affidavit states the female was later identified as a 16 year-old girl.
The affidavit stated the Polk County Sheriff's office turned over the case to Angelina County since they believed the alleged sexual acts occurred there. Angelina County authorities claim to have recovered approximately 19 videos by Meadows and the victim in various sexual activities.
The affidavit stated authorities met the victim at Harold's House. The report continued saying the victim started to cry when asked about the videos and admitted that she willingly entered into a relationship before her 16th birthday. The victim told authorities she knew the relationship was wrong. The victim also told authorities she was embarrassed by the situation.
Meadows was then booked into the Angelina County Jail. He currently has a $100,000 collective bond on two of the seven charges.
Sheriff Greg Sanches said the Sheriff's office is working with the FBI to investigate possible child pornography charges.
According to the Texas Penal Code, a child under the age of 17 cannot legally consent to have sex.
