Lufkin woman arrested for vandalism to washateria vending machine

A Lufkin woman wanted by Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers for vandalizing a vending machine has been arrested.

After the initial video was released on the Crime Stoppers Website several tips were sent in identifying the suspect in the vandalism of the machine at the R&R Washateria as Carla Hamilton.

Hamilton has been charged with criminal mischief as well as possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.

According to a Lufkin Police report, officers were given a warrant for the criminal mischief charges on Hamilton. Officers reportedly found Hamilton standing behind a known drug house in the 1000 block of Glenn Street. The reports continued stating officers approached Hamilton and asked her to stand up. It was at that time Hamilton allegedly tried to destroy evidence that appeared to be cocaine.

Bond has not been set at this time.
