LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Loud worship ballads will pour out of the house speakers at the George H. Henderson Expo Center this fall.
The 2015 Small Town America tour will be coming to Lufkin on September 12. The tour will be headlined by Fireflight and Seventh Day Slumber. The two will be joined by Shonlock and Scarlet White.
"This is not your typical church music," promoter James Fenimore said. "I wanted to bring these bands to East Texas because not everyone can travel two to three hours to go to a show. These guys also deliver a great message and testimony."
Based in Florida, Fireflight is in the rock genre of Christian music and has played on the national concert series known as Winter Jam. Seventh Day Slumber is based out of Texas. In 2006, the rock band's "Ocean from Rain" was the 14th most played song on Christian radio according to the radio program Weekend 22.
Shonlock is a Christian rapper from Atlanta, Ga. The rapper got his start in Christian music as a back-up singer and dancer from Grammy winner Tobymac. According to his Website, Shonlock's "Something in Your Eyes" reached No.1 on the Billboard radio charts for six weeks.
Scarlet White hits the road with the group from Three River, MI. According to their Website, Scarlet White's music can best be described as heavy post-grunge melodic rock, with meaningful lyrics, solid instrumentation, and a passionate honesty. Scarlet White, formed in 2008, has always been driven to share a bold message of strength, motivation, and hope that supersedes all worldly obstacles.
Tickets for the show are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. VIP tickets can be purchased for $30. The VIP tickets will allow guest to interact with the bands before the first act begins.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in the coming weeks. The event is being brought to Lufkin by Together in Life Productions and KSWP Radio.
