CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) -

Corrigan police are searching for a suspect they say was involved in an early morning homicide.

Police say they were called to a disturbance, between two men, at 5:23 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West 2nd Street in Corrigan.

According to witnesses, two men, Steve White and Demarcus Jackson, had a disagreement. While they were arguing, witnesses say White got a hold of a knife and allegedly stabbed Jackson multiple times. Jackson then ran out of the home, falling into the west bound lane of West 2nd Steet.

Officials from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Texas Rangers, Department of Public Safety, and the Corrigan Police Department all responded to the scene.

A warrant has been issued by Corrigan police for Steve White. He is considered armed and dangerous.

According to Corrigan Police, they have received several tips that White might be in Lufkin. They are working with Lufkin PD and Angelina County Sheriff's Office to find him.
