Wedding bells rang for an unlikely couple on Saturday.
Nacogdoches County native author Gwen Choate, 92, often writes about characters getting second chances in life.
She experienced a second chance of her own, as she remarried her former husband, Rufus Choate, 93, after being divorced for 50 years.
“Some people might think it’s silly, two people in their 90’s getting married, but we’re quite happy,” said Rufus Choate.
The happy couple was wed in Choate’s childhood church, First United Methodist in Nacogdoches.
