Lufkin PD officers to help raise money for Special Olympics at Tip-A-Cop event

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Officers from the Lufkin Police Department will be taking part in the Special Olympics Texas and Law Enforcement Torch Run Tip-A-Cop event at Ralph & Kacoo’s Thursday night from 6 to 9 p.m.

“The Lufkin Police Department will take part in the LETR’s Tip-A-Cop event, whereby they exchange uniforms for aprons and serve tables for tips, which will all be donated to Special Olympics Texas to fund programming for more than 800 athletes in the East Texas area,” a press release stated.

Ralph & Kacoo’s is located at 3107 South Street.

A privately funded non-profit organization, Special Olympics Texas encourages and empowers people with intellectual disabilities. SOTX provides continuing opportunities for more than 53,400 children and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout the Lone Star State.
