NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Following a traffic stop in the 3400 block of South Street early Thursday morning, Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a Shreveport man on a first-degree felony drug charge and seized 278 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $18,500.
Keaton Lamar Shaw, 28, is still being held in the Nacogdoches jail on a first-degree felony manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 200 and 400 grams. No bail amount has been set.
According to a press release, NPD officers stopped a Chrysler 300 in the 3400 block of South Street for a traffic violation in the early morning hours of Thursday. While the officers were talking to the driver, and Shaw, his passenger, they became suspicious of "possible drug trafficking."
During the course of the investigation, which was conducted by the Nacogdoches Police Department's K9 Unit, Shaw was found to be in possession of 278 grams of cocaine, which has an estimated street value of $18,500, the press release stated.
Shaw was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
